POSITION SUMMARY
This position is responsible for driving a company owned vehicle to transport residents to and from various appointments, shopping, and other recreational services.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
• Maintains and possess required Passenger designated license or higher.
• Safely transport passengers to and from destinations in a reasonable time frame.
• Must be familiar with area and be able to plan routes in an efficient manner.
• Performs manual tasks in cleaning the interior and exterior of bus such as dusting, sweeping, mopping floors, and general window cleaning.
• Notifies appropriate personal of mechanical problems.
• Fills out forms, reports and paperwork accurately and clearly.
• Builds positive relationships with residents, good people and listening skills required.
• Periodically inspects vehicle for safety and reports any problems, including tires, lights, horn, mirrors, etc.
• Fills and maintains fuel in the vehicle, periodically takes vehicle for washing and required inspections and service.
• Secures wheelchair passengers for transport.
• Operates a cell phone.
• Performs related work as required.
NONESSENTIAL DUTIES
Performs minor tasks related to the department when needed.
PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS
• Must possess a Passenger (F – Taxi, Livery, Service Bus & Motor Coach) designated license.
• Must maintain a good driving record.
• Must be able to perform manual cleaning tasks.
• Must be able to work independently, identify problems and solutions, and communicate verbally and in writing with multiple departments.
• Must establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers and residents.
• Must be able to secure a wheelchair properly.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
• Working toward a high school diploma or higher.
• Must have a valid state of Connecticut Driver’s license Passenger (P) designation.
• Develop, coordinate, and implement engaging events, activities and trips which are representative of an Active Adult Lifestyle Community.
• May be required to flex time as needed to work weekends and/or evenings.

Frequently, the employee will lift and/or move over 25 pounds and up to 60 pounds, and occasionally will lift or move over 60 pounds, generally with the assistance of others.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
The position requires the ability to solve practical problems and deal with several concrete choices in standardized situations and also the ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral or schedule form.
