Sonos streaming audio player, complete system with speakers - $50 (Hamden (Whitneyville))

This older Sonos system lets you stream music or audio from your own sources, or from Sonos's many pre-made channels (e.
g.
"80s hits", "modern rap", "classic jazz"), or from podcasts or audio books or other streaming services that you have a subscription to.
The idea is that it uses your home's WiFi system to transmit the audio signal, rather than the less-rich Bluetooth standard; and then you play the stream through real speakers, in stereo, rather than through a small battery-powered Bluetooth speaker.
This ZP120 ZonePlayer comes with a built-in amp (newer models are called the "Connect:Amp").
I've included the Sony speakers I used with it.
Also included: the Ethernet cable that you'll need for initial set-up, and the power-cord (after-market).
Updated to latest firmware.
So it is a complete system, except that you also need: - home WiFi router - your smart-phone or tablet (or a decommissioned older smart-phone or tablet that doesn't need to have cellular service but has WiFi) that can run the Sonos S1 Controller App (links and more information are at https://support.
sonos.
com/en-us/downloads ).
You use this app to register with Sonos; to set up the ZonePlayer while it is connected to your WiFi router; to optionally convert the set-up to wireless so as to move it to a different room (not physically connected to the router but still in WiFi range); and to control what music or audio is playing.
