North Haven Child Development Center is looking to grow our team of Infant and Toddler Teachers (ages birth through 3 years old)
* This is a full time position working directly in the classroom with children.
Our beautiful, newly re-molded center has one infant classroom, two toddler classrooms, two preschool classrooms and one private kindergarten classroom.

Job Description: 0-3 Teacher *Purpose:* Leads in teaching, protecting and providing care for children; Designs and carries out lesson plans and curriculum activities based on each child’s individual needs and goals; Ensures play-based assessment is completed twice yearly and meets with family to discuss progress and set new goals together.
*Qualifications* Bachelor’s in Early Childhood Education preferred, minimum of Associates Degree.
Pay based accordingly Experience working with young children, preferably in a classroom / child care setting for a minimum of 3 years Ability to work on a full-time basis, up to 40 hours a week Weekend or evening hours may apply for training purposes if needed Can independently lift up to 40 lbs.
, if necessary Prompt, reliable, dependable, honest, ability to accept constructive feedback from supervisors and willing to work together in a team atmosphere *Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following;* Complete weekly observations on children and completing learning plans, checkpoints and parent teacher conferences using Creative Curriculum and Teaching Strategies GOLD Assessment Framework Implementation of age /developmentally appropriate learning plans and activities for children based on interests, theme and current development Maintaining orderly, clean, welcoming classroom for children and parents.
Daily Cleaning consists of but is not limited to; sweeping, cleaning tables and chairs, bathrooms, mopping floors, vacuum rugs at the end of the night, cleaning toys daily and maintaining organization for the children to learn and grow Present any notes, communications, messages to classroom team immediately upon receiving from parent, or other adult to ensure open communication with team members.
Ask questions as needed to management team.
Interact positively with children, families and co-workers at all times, maintain respect and professionalism Supervise children by sight and sound at all times, inside and outside of the classroom Observe individual children daily and provide input to team for the following but not limited to; learning plans, action plans, individualizing, parent teacher conferences Maintain appropriate documentation for each child through the use of teacher/parent communication app (Smartcare); accident report, communication logs, meals, notes etc.
Assist in keeping community areas of building neat and clean; including playground area, front lobby, staff space upstairs, kitchen area, bathrooms, etc.
Keep toys /mats appropriately sanitized, according to state licensing regulations and program policies Provide children with a safe, warm and nurturing learning environment at all times Communicate daily with families and co-workers to ensure successful experiences Know and understand licensing regulations from the Office of Early Childhood Be familiar with NAEYC Quality Program Standards Read and become familiar with all Policies and Procedures for implementation Attend professional development, equal to 1% of total annual working hours; information to be provided by Director Sensitivity to individual children and their families regarding; ethnicity, differences in cultures, religious affiliations, family structure, etc.
Working cooperatively with teacher, providing constructive criticism as needed, supporting the growth of teacher assistant.

: - Create and implement age-appropriate lesson plans and activities for preschool-aged children.
- Provide a safe and nurturing environment for children to learn and grow.
- Foster social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development through play-based learning.
- Promote positive behavior and teach children appropriate social skills.
- Monitor and assess each child's progress and communicate with parents or guardians regularly.
- Collaborate with other teachers and staff to create a cohesive learning environment.
- Maintain a clean and organized classroom.
Experience: - Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field preferred.
- Previous experience working with young children in a daycare, preschool, or similar setting.
- Knowledge of literacy education and early childhood development principles.
- Ability to effectively communicate with children, parents, and colleagues.
- Familiarity with special education practices and strategies is a plus.
- Understanding of child welfare guidelines and regulations.
- Experience in toddler care and classroom management.
