Immediate opening for a Head Teacher at our Before/After School Program
*Position Summary: *
The Head Teacher is responsible for overseeing the daily operation of the program.
Responsible for the care, education, supervision, and safety of all children in their care, as part of a teaching team, and functions as a team leader.
The Head Teacher plans and implements an age appropriate curriculum, and with active participation of other members of the teaching team, works with parents and assesses the needs of individual children.
Learns, implements, and ensures center and staff are in compliance with State of CT Licensing standards.
Minimum qualifications/requirements
* Approval by OEC as a head teacher.
* At least 2 years head teacher experience.
* Must be at least 20 years of age.
* Clear understanding of OEC licensing requirements.
* Must have or obtain current first aid, CPR, and medication administration training.
* Must be able to successfully pass all security and background checks in accordance with regulatory requirements.
* Be knowledgeable of the NAEYC Code of Ethical Conduct.
* Excellent verbal, written and listening communication skills.
* Strong leadership skills.
* A positive approach to discipline
* Responsibility and professionalism
* Positive, creative, and healthy attitude
* Must have personal qualities necessary to care for and work with children, work as part of a team and communicate with parents and other professionals.
* Flexible schedule to work before and after school shifts approx.
6:45-8:30 and 2:45-5/6
* Occasional 8:30-10:30 and/or 12:45-5/6 on delayed openings or early dismissal days
* Must meet all requirements of CT OEC.
